South African batter Faf du Plessis fell over the advertising board when playing in the Abu Dhabi T10 League recently. Thankfully, the veteran cricketer avoided a potentially serious injury.
The incident occurred on the last ball of the eighth over. Playing for the Morrisville Samp Army against Delhi Bulls on November 26, Du Plessis chased a Tim David shot to the boundary to save a few runs for his side. The South African didn't notice that the ball boy stationed there had bent down to collect the ball.
In a bid to avoid colliding with the ball boy, Du Plessis jumped over the advertising board. Luckily for the 40-year-old, he fell on grass banks and was quick to get up and resume his duties on the field.

Earlier in the game, Du Plessis scored 11 runs off five balls when opening the innings for his side. In the end, Morrisville Samp Army narrowly beat the Delhi Bulls by two runs to register their fifth consecutive win in the tournament
