Rinku Singh helped Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secure two important points against Punjab Kings on Monday, May 9, at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The win helped KKR move up to the fifth place in the points table as the playoffs race gets stiff.

Rinku Singh scored 21 runs in 10 balls with the aid of two boundaries and a six in a modest 180-run chase against PBKS. SIngh was left to score two runs on the final ball of the game. He flicked Arshdeep Singh's full toss delivery towards the deep backward square leg for a boundary.

Speaking about his mindset for finishing the game once again for KKR, Singh told skipper Nitish Rana in a video on IPL's official website:

"Since the morning I had this belief that we will win the match and I will score runs. Had a chat with Russell that if the ball misses and goes to the keeper then we will take a single."

He added:

"I had this in my mind that I will play accordingly against the kind of delivery that comes. My mindset was same as the one I had when I hit five sixes in last five balls. Not to think too much and play according to the ball."

During the interview with Nitish Rana, Singh also taught the KKR captain his iconinc hand gesture move and the two were seen performing the move together.

Rinku Singh's red-hot form continues in IPL 2023

Singh is leading the scoring charts for KKR with 337 runs in 11 innings at 56.17 and a strike rate of 151.12, including a couple of fifties. Overall, Singh is 10th in the list of the top run-getters in IPL 2023 so far.
