Virat Kohli is capable of turning the fortunes of RCB all by himself. The team had a similar season at 2016 but Virat singlehandedly took them to the finals. He can do that even now but it would not be essential.

When compared to the World Cup, the 2019 IPL is not that important. The Australian team and the England team have officially declared that they would call their players midway through the tournament due to World Cup training.

Significant players like Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell have decided to skip this season of IPL. As soon as the World Cup squads are announced many selected players would leave the tournament. This shows the importance of the impending cricket carnival.

As of now, the RCB side already has five defeats and Virat seem to be in panic mode. The burden would be even heavier for the captain as the season progress. His confidence and energy would be significantly drained.

The Indian captain shouldn't be affected by the IPL. Taking a rest would take away his focus from the IPL and put it on the World Cup. A considerable rest, long training and a humiliating IPL season would escalate Virat's appetite to seize the Cup.
