Waqar Younis: Ishant Sharma can be better than he is

Former Pakistan fast bowler Waqar Younis, who has been roped in as a bowling coach with Indian Premier League franchisee Hyderabad Sunrisers, has said he is really eager to help team’s fast bowlers especially naming Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma.

Waqar is not the first Pakistani bowling coach in the Indian Premier League to work with Ishant Sharma. He joins the footsteps of his former colleague and new-ball partner Wasim Akram, who was in the similar role with Kolkata Knight Riders since 2010, but has taken a break this season according to Daily Times.

The paper went to say that Former Australia all-rounder Tom Moody, who is the Sunrisers’ head coach, was influential in hiring Waqar.

Waqar said the of the IPL job that it would be a challenge, and the former Pakistan national team coach has already set himself a goal i.e. working closely with the fast bowler Sharma.

Waqar said he is eagerly looking forward to work with Sharma, adding he can be a better bowler than he is.

Dale Steyn, Clint McKay, Sudeep Tyagi are the other notable fast bowlers in the Sunrisers squad, who are sure to benefit from Waqar’s huge experience.
