Yash Dayal IPL Career

Yash Dayal is a professional left-arm fast-medium bowler representing Uttar Pradesh domestically and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Growing up in a cricketing family, his father, Chandarpal Dayal, was a fast bowler and played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy during the '80s and '90s. Yash made his List A debut in September 2018, followed by his First-Class and T20 domestic debut shortly after.

In 2022, Yash was called up as a backup for India’s ODI squad against the West Indies because various players tested positive for COVID-19. That same year, he was picked by the Gujarat Titans in the IPL mega-auction for INR 3.2 crores, making him a promising addition to the tea

Yash Dayal’s IPL journey has seen significant growth in his auction value over the years. Initially bought by Gujarat for INR 3.20 crore in 2022 and 2023, he proved his worth and consistency. In 2024, his talent caught the attention of Bangalore, who secured him a notable INR 5 crore deal. Yash has been retained by RCB ahead of the 2025 IPL at INR 5 crore.

Yash Dayal has showcased his bowling skills in the IPL across 28 matches, delivering 577 balls and conceding 920 runs. With 28 wickets at an average of 32.86 and a strike rate of 20.61, his best bowling figures stand at 3/20. Although his economy rate is on the higher side at 9.57, his ability to take regular wickets makes him a valuable asset. Dayal has yet to achieve a four or five-wicket haul but continues to evolve in his role.
