
Oscar Piastri is an Australian racing driver who competes in Formula One, driving the No. 81 car for the McLaren F1 Team. He began his journey in radio-controlled racing, after which he moved to karting at age nine, gradually graduating to junior formulae in 2016. Piastri has won multiple championships before Formula One, including the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup, the 2020 FIA Formula 3, and the 2021 FIA Formula 2. He debuted in Formula One in 2023 at the Bahrain Grand Prix for McLaren and achieved his first podium during his rookie season at the Japanese Grand Prix. Piastri has five wins so far, with 14 podiums, two pole positions, and four fastest laps in 52 entries in Formula One.
After Piastri won his FIA Formula 2 title in 2021, he was announced as the reserve driver of Alpine for the 2022 season.
