Best IPL 2023 Fantasy Team for IPL Match 71 - GT vs CSK

Wicketkeepers: Quinton de Kock (LSG) (WK) (10 Credits)

Batters: Ruturaj Gaikwad (BAT) (CSK) (9.5 Credits), Suryakumar Yadav (BAT) (MI) (10 Credits), and Shubman Gill (BAT) (GT) (9.5 Credits)

All-Rounders: Vijay Shankar (ALL) (GT) (7 Credits), Ravindra Jadeja (ALL) (CSK) (10 Credits), and Rashid Khan (ALL) (GT) (10.5 Credits)

I'm opting to go for an 8-3 split between players from qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, respectively. As of now, I have five GT players in the team and only three from CSK. While I'd like to have an equal number from each team, right now, I feel more confident picking the players I have in the team.

Devon Conway's record against GT hasn't been great, and I don't expect him to survive GT's deadly new-ball attack. While it's a risky move, considering that he's coming off a big score, I feel Ruturaj Gaikwad is the CSK opener who could fare better. Not going for Conway allows me to get an extra GT bowler to join Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami: Mohit Sharma.

Mohit has been expensive in his last few outings, but returning to a venue he played a lot at during his time at CSK should do his form plenty of good. His cutters, variations and relentless accuracy should make life tough for the batters, and if they try to go after him, they could gift him wickets.

Ravindra Jadeja and Shubman Gill are two more routine picks who almost guarantee points whenever they play. Vijay Shankar and Matheesha Pathirana are the only real differentials in this team.

Shankar's contributions may have gone under the radar, but he has delivered in clutch moments for GT this season. I reckon Shankar's promotion to No.3 against RCB is a permanent one and expect Hardik Pandya to bat lower down the order. That does make Pandya an attractive option on home turf.

Meanwhile, there hasn't been a bowler as impressive as Pathirana in the death overs. His battle with the likes of Rahul Tewatia, David Miller and Hardik Pandya will be exciting to watch.

As for the players from the LSG-MI clash, I'm picking Quinton de Kock (LSG) and Surya Kumar Yadav (MI), the two most reliable batters of the two sides. Due to concerns over Krunal Pandya's fitness, I'm going for Piyush Chawla as the third player. The leg-spinner should enjoy the conditions at the Chepauk and add to his impressive wicket tally.
