#7 David Alaba, Austria – 6

David Alaba has won the Austrian Footballer of the Year award six times already at the age of 24

The youngest player on the list, David Alaba is one of the most gifted footballers to emerge from Austria. The 24-year old has played his entire senior career at Bayern Munich so far and is well-known for his versatility to play in various positions ranging from left-back to central midfield to the wings.

He is also the youngest player to play for the national team at 17 years of age in 2009 and has already made a half-century of appearances for the side. All these factors highlight the prodigy he is and it is of no wonder that he has swept away the Austrian Footballer of the Year award for a record six times consecutively from 2011. At this rate, he is sure to eclipse the world record for any country’s highest number of Player of the Year awards won down the line.
