Olympian Alexander "Alex" Noren is a professional golfer with an Official World Golf Ranking of No. 72 as of May 2025. The Swede has a total of 11 professional wins, including 10 on the European Tour. He has also participated in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, finishing 16th in the men's individual. Further, he has qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics as well. Noren was born on July 12, 1982, and began playing golf at the age of four. In 2002, he won the European Youths' Team Championship at Gdansk G&CC in Poland while playing for the Swedish team. Norén tied for third place individually, and the Swedish team took home the bronze at the 2004 Eisenhower Trophy in Río Grande, Puerto Rico. Noren went to Oklahoma State University and turned professional in 2005, initially playing on the Challenge Tour and winning his pro win at the 2006 Rolex Trophy. The following season, he joined the European Tour. Also, his best major finish came at the 2024 PGA Championship, where he finished tied for 12th place.

In September 2018, Noren made his Ryder Cup debut at Le Golf National, Paris. He led the European team to victory by defeating Bryson DeChambeau with a huge putt on the last green, long after Francesco Molinari had given Thomas Bjørn's team the advantage. Noren had played college golf at Oklahoma State University, having graduated with a degree in business marketing, and had spent eight years as an amateur competing for the Swedish national team before that. In the 2017 BMW PGA Championship, he pulled off a victory on the last day, shooting a course record-tying 10 under par 62 at Wentworth Club to win the inaugural Rolex Series tournament. At the 2018 HNA Open de France, he won his second Rolex Series victory, bringing his total of European Tour trophies to ten.
