The lefty professional golfer Brian Harman was born on January 19, 1987. He currently plays on the PGA Tour, but was a former player on the eGolf Professional Tour.
During his amateur career, he won the 2003 U.S. Junior Amateur, the 2005 Players Amateur, and the 2007 Porter Cup. Notably, he was the youngest player on the 2005 Walker Cup team, which they won; he played in the 2009 Walker Cup and the 2007 Palmer Cup too. His collegiate golf at the University of Georgia was stellar, with three award wins for the highest grade point average, along with the 2005 NCAA Preview and the 2006 Isleworth Invitational.
He turned professional in 2010 and initially played on the eGolf Professional Tour, winning his first professional victory at the Manor Classic against Jason Kokrak and Drew Weaver by three strokes for a score of 272 under 12.
Harman joined the PGA Tour in 2012 and played in his first major event, the U.S. Open, although he missed the cut. After two years on the tour, he had his first PGA Tour win at the 2014 John Deere Classic, where he won over Zach Johnson with a score of 262, under 22, by one stroke.
His greatest victory came at the 2023 Open Championship, where he tied Phil Mickelson and Bob Charles as the only other left-handed Open champions. He also became the fifth left-handed major champion, having previously won with Mike Weir and Bubba Watson.
With a second-round 65 that outscored the field scoring average by more than eight strokes, Harman took the lead in the championship. He led by five shots going into the last round and won the Open by six in the end. Harman's odds of winning were 125 to 1, making him an unlikely winner.
