The PGA Tour's John Deere Classic was founded almost 50 years ago. It is an annual golf tournament held in July at the TPC Deere Run. The 2024 event will be held at the TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, in the United States, and run from July 1 to July 7.
The PGA Tour first acknowledged the John Deere Classic in 1972, but it had started in 1971 and had Ed McMahon of "The Tonight Show" fame as its host. It had its fair share of sponsors, with Miller Brewer Company from 1982, followed by Hardee's from 1986 and finally John Deere from 1999.
The John Deere Classic is a player's last chance to earn a spot in the Open Championship if they haven't already, by finishing in the top five. The tournament's record for the lowest score is set by Michael Kim's 257 under 21 in 2018, where he defeated Russell Henley by two strokes.
