American professional golfer Nelly Korda was born on July 28, 1998. She competes on the LPGA Tour, where she has won nine times and was No. 1 in the Women's World Golf Rankings. She won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics and the next season, she won the Women's PGA Championship. She participated in Solheim Cups as a representative of the U.S. in 2019, 2021 and 2023 with her sister Jessica Korda.

In 2015, Korda participated in the U.S. Junior Solheim Cup. She won the amateur Harder Hall Invitational and PING Invitational in 2015, and she was named an AJGA Rolex Junior All-American. A month before turning 15, she also qualified for the 2013 U.S. Women's Open.

Korda turned professional in 2016 and initially played on the Symetra Tour. At the Sioux Falls GreatLIFE Challenge, she won her first pro event with a three-stroke victory over Wichanee Meechai, shooting rounds of 270. She qualified for the 2017 LPGA Tour by finishing ninth on the money list at the end of the season.

In October 2018, Korda earned her first LPGA Tour win at the Swinging Skirts LPGA Taiwan Championship. Following the Jutanugarn sisters, Moriya and Ariya Jutanugarn, and Charlotta and Annika Sörenstam, she and her sister Jessica Korda became the third sibling duo to win on the LPGA.

In January 2024, in her hometown of Bradenton, Korda won the LPGA Drive On Championship, her ninth event on the LPGA Tour. After trailing by three strokes going into the final round's 16th hole, Korda made an eagle-birdie finish to put Lydia Ko in a playoff.

After Ko's 5-footer caught the lip and spun out, she won on the second extra hole with a 4-foot par putt on the par-4 18th. Korda moved up three spots to take the second spot in the world rankings after winning.
