The RBC Heritage is a 55 year old PGA Tour event first held in 1969. It's the only PGA Tour event conducted in South Carolina each year, and it was known for most of its existence as The Heritage or the Heritage Classic.
The PGA Tour's RBC Heritage has been staged at Harbour Town Golf Links every year since 1969. It takes place in April, the weekend after the Masters Tournament. Since Verizon stopped sponsoring the golf tournament after the 2010 event, Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has taken over as the event's new sponsor.

RBC Heritage 2024 Tournament Purse History
The RBC Heritage purse's worth has grown dramatically in the last four years. The purse was only worth $7.1 million in 2020. The RBC Heritage purse is now at $20 million, an 182 per cent increase from $7.7 million in 2021.
The current purse is $2 million greater compared to the 2024 Masters, the year's first major title. The inaugural Heritage event in 1969 had a purse of $20,000; thus, after 50 years, the growth of $20 million is obviously significant.
