GTA 6.com reportedly gets requested by Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive

GTA 6 announcement seems to be near as a related domain just got requested by Rockstar Games' parent company. According to a recent report by KYE on X (formerly Twitter), Take-Two Interactive is actively trying to get the GTA6.com domain. The company allegedly sent a legal letter to the domain owner requesting its transfer to their name.

If players go to www.gta6.com, they will find out that the website is newly created but not installed at this moment.

GTA 6 announcement could be near based on the domain name report

As can be seen in the aforementioned X post, KYE shared an image of a document “Domain GTA 6 Letter.pdf,” in which Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two Interactive asked the domain name owner to transfer GTA6.com to them by 3 PM BST, October 26, 2023. The alleged letter contains the following statement on behalf of the company:

“Your registration of the GTA6.com domain name violates our rights in our Grand Theft Auto Marks. In addition, Take-Two is the publisher of GRAND THEFT AUTO V (FIVE), the form of which (combining our game name plus the following number) your registration clearly copies.”

Asking the owner to transfer the domain name, the alleged letter states the following:

“We prefer to settle this matter amicably and request that you immediately arrange for the transfer of the GTA6.com domain name to Take-Two. Please commemorate your agreement to transfer the domain by countersigning this letter on the space included below and returning it to me by no later than 3 p.m. BST on October 26, 2023.”

The letter seems to be written by Justin Roberts, an in-house counsel at Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.

This is a piece of huge news, which could lead to a potential GTA 6 announcement soon. However, fans are advised to take this report with a pinch of salt as it cannot be verified now.

Moreover, a recent change on the Rockstar Games website’s video page has led to rumors that the developer is preparing to release a GTA 6 trailer as soon as possible.
