GTA 6 release date for PC & PS5

While Rockstar Games hasn't provided a specific release date for GTA 6, the company has given a release window with it scheduled to drop in 2025.

Why is GTA 6 release taking so long?

The firm that produced the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Rockstar Games, revealed that "the next edition in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway" and that it will be released for the first time in February 2022. The development of GTA 6, like any other AAA video game title, is hindered by several issues that affect its progression and release schedule. The most notable was the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought the globe to a standstill.

When is GTA 6 coming out?

GTA 6 will be coming out somewhere 2025, as revealed by Rockstar Games via the official trailer for the game and a press release released by the company. The gaming giant also made an official announcement in June 2022 and in November 2023, they revealed that a trailer for GTA 6 would be unveiled in December 2023. The firm also revealed that they're utilizing all their resources and time to develop GTA 6.

Rockstar Games have made quite the profit from GTA V. As a game released back in 2013; it's still one of the most played games. And considering how much money Grand Theft Auto 5 has brought in, it shouldn’t be a surprise that the developer isn’t quite ready to retire its most successful creation just yet.

Will GTA 6 have a female protagonist as a playable character?

There has been an attempt at improving their reputation by Rockstar Games. Their efforts aren't only for the physical world of the game but for other aspects of the game as well. There have been 16 installments in the GTA franchise so far. However, only one starred a female protagonist; the rest had male leads.

But there is a piece of good news, as GTA 6 is coming with a breath of new air. It has been confirmed that GTA 6 will have a female protagonist with a closely related male lead. Together, these two characters will act as a team in the game storyline.

GTA 6 might be set in Vice City

Grand Theft Auto 6 is making a return to Vice City, the GTA equivalent of Miami. The location is no stranger for GTA fans as it was previously explored in 2002’s Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and that game’s 2006 prequel Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories.

But unlike its predecessors set in the mid-1980s, GTA 6 is set to unfold a modern-day narrative inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, featuring protagonists named Jason and Lucia, as suggested by early gameplay previews.
