While Rockstar Games continues to develop GTA 6, fans appear to have high expectations from it. Recently, a fan shared their views on the destruction physics of the upcoming game. According to them, the gaming studio should include open-world destruction features similar to Forza Horizon 5. They also talked about how the currently available titles have some unrealistic destruction properties.
However, others have varied opinions regarding the destruction physics of Forza Horizon 5. This article explains more.
Fan wants Rockstar Games to implement Forza Horizon 5-like destruction physics in GTA 6
On January 14, 2024, an X user named Casaoui (X/@Casaoui_2) shared the above post that demonstrated the destruction physics of Forza Horizon 5. According to them, all new and returning cars in GTA 6 should be able to ram through open-world objects such as trees, poles, walls, and barricades.
In the video, the Lamborghini Urus was seen destroying these objects with ease and moving forward. The user said that in Grand Theft Auto 4 and Grand Theft Auto 5 (especially in Cayo Perico Island), the trees and poles are indestructible, and therefore, Rockstar Games should consider the destruction physics of Forza Horizon 5 for the upcoming game.
However, fans were not convinced by the user’s suggestion and said that Forza Horizon 5 uses unrealistic physics properties for open-world objects.
While Casaoui did not appreciate the destruction feature of Grand Theft Auto 4, it is one of the most acclaimed characteristics of the 2008 title. The community has praised this attention to detail in GTA 4, which makes the game more lively. Although Grand Theft Auto 5 saw a significant downgrade from its predecessor, the destruction physics is still better compared to Forza Horizon 5.
However, Rockstar Games should look to improve the in-game physics in the upcoming title. The September 2022 leaks showed an improved ragdoll physics implementation on both characters and vehicles. The game's final version should also include it to make the gameplay unique compared to the 2008 and 2013 titles.
Electric poles and trees in Grand Theft Auto games are notorious for being indestructible. The developer should add new physics to them so that crashes look more realistic. While the first trailer only showed one shot of an already crashed vehicle, the GTA 6 trailer 2 should include a live crash scene to demonstrate the driving physics.
