Based on what Rockstar's parent company revealed in an Earnings Call, it would seem as though the GTA Trilogy Remastered's Android port could come out in a few years. Some information that is relevant for readers here can be found under the FY24-FY26 section of their presentation PDFs. This game (referred to as Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition officially) is listed under the Mobile category.

Android and iOS ports would count as mobile games. While other announced titles have years listed next to them, the Definitive Edition doesn't. Instead, Take-Two Interactive merely listed it in a table for games that should launch around Fiscal Year 2024~2026. It's not a specific release date, but it's a good hint as to when the port should come out.

The GTA Trilogy Remastered is listed under the "TITLES OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED TO-DATE" section for Mobile games with a worldwide launch. Fiscal Year 2024 to 2026 is a range of dates from April 1, 2023, to March 31, 2026. Note that Rockstar Games has not currently announced any plans for the Android and iOS ports. Likewise, no credible leaks reveal when those versions of the game will launch.

That means players might have to wait up to nearly three years to get the GTA Trilogy Remastered on Android and iOS. That's a far cry from the original release date, which was already delayed. For reference, Rockstar Games originally announced that the ports would come out in the first half of 2022, based on this Newswire passage:

"In addition, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be coming to iOS and Android in the first half of 2022."

That was later revealed to be incorrect, much to the dismay of players interested in playing this game on their Android or iOS phones. Gamers should remember that the 2023 to 2026 release date could also get delayed further. Officially speaking, the ports' launch date is still TBA.

Take-Two Interactive has revealed some more important details about the Grand Theft Auto franchise's success thus far. Here is a summary of the crucial information regarding what they unveiled at the recent Earnings Call:

  • Total sales: 400 million units for the entire franchise
  • GTA 6 development: This game is still being worked on
  • Grand Theft Auto V sales: This game has sold 180 million units thus far. It's also the best-selling video game of the last decade in the US.

Some estimates suggest that the GTA Trilogy remastered sold less than one million units in Q4 of Fiscal Year 2023, but Take-Two Interactive has not revealed the official data. The upcoming Android and iOS ports should help bring the updated classic trio of games more impressive sales, based on the Steam version selling over a few million units in a few months.

There is no other news about the GTA Trilogy Remastered's mobile ports at the moment.
