The tree trunk will be made of brand-new cherry wood logs. They won't be as straight as oak trees, but will have horizontal branches with more leaf blocks.

Cherry wood logs can be crafted into blocks like stripped wood, planks, buttons, doors, fences, fence gates, pressure plates, signs, slabs, stairs, and trapdoors. These new blocks are a breath of fresh air for those who constantly build new structures and need unique types of blocks.
