As players make their way towards the infamous planet Arrakis in Dune Awakening, they will look for ways to invite friends into this desert landscape. As the early access for Deluxe and Ultimate edition owners became available, fans of the Dune franchise are slowly making their way through a storyline where the Fremen have seemingly vanished and Paul Atreides was never born.
In this cinematic world, players want an ally by their side, which is why this article will go over how you can set up a multiplayer party in Dune Awakening.
Dune Awakening: How to invite friends
Just like every other MMO game, collecting resources and survival are integral parts of Dune Awakening. And with friends by your side, thriving in this harsh landscape does get a bit easier. Here is how you can invite your friends:
- Boot up the game and access the map screen.
- Open the Social Menu and search for your friends using their account name in the players tab.
- Send them friend requests. Once they accept, you can invite them to the party. Alternatively, you can accept their friend requests in the Friends Invite tab.

To play in the same party, you and your friends must be on the same server and sietch. This is crucial for playing together and must be sorted out before getting into the game.
You can also party-up with strangers you find on the road quite easily. Simple holding interact while standing next to them will bring up a radial menu, where you can send them a party invite.

Other than adding friends, you must be on the lookout for permissions you can grant your teammates. These include access to your base, doors, chests, building management, etc. Let's take a look at the permissions that various roles have in Funcom's latest MMO:
While playing with strangers, it's necessary to be wary of your resources and access levels. Giving random strangers access to your entire base can be risky, so manage the roles of your party members from the social menu.
Players can also bypass certain content by partying up with late-game players. This allows them to access some content before progressing enough and can usually break the immersive experience. Therefore, watch out for player levels before joining a multiplayer party.
