Destiny 2's new expansion, The Edge of Fate, will be introducing some massive changes to the sandbox. New weapon tiers and armor 3.0 are the primary updates coming with the launch, alongside a new power level for everyone to build into. These numbers will determine a Guardian's power in the coming days, be it any early, mid-game, or endgame activity.
This article lists how the power level will work in The Edge of Fate, including the floor power, power cap, pinnacle cap, and any further bonuses from there.
How does the new power leveling work in Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate
To start, let us go over the power floor, which is the number every Guardian will have at the start of The Edge of Fate. Until now, it has been 1900 for everyone. However, from July 15, that number will be 10. From 10 to 200 will be your base range to power up via the new Portal system or the campaign missions. This will be similar to the cap, which allowed players to jump-start their character.
From 200 to 550 (for now) will be the seasonal level range, where players will level up via seasonal activity. With each season, that range/level cap is scheduled to increase. The increase in power will be 450 until mid-season, followed by 550 for the last three months of the season. But, with the end of each season, the power will reset for everyone to 200.
Note that at the time of writing this article, there has been no definite "power cap" mentioned above 550, most likely because the caps are meant to be temporary, and are intended to tackle seasonal activities for the most part. Hence, to summarize the power levels, here's everything listed:
- Power floor for everyone at the start: 10.
- Soft power cap: 200.
- Increased cap for the first three months of a season: 450.
- Further increased cap for the last three months of a season: 550.
This article will be updated when new information about the level cap comes to light.
