Peter Forrest: A Brief Biography

Peter Forrest Biography

Peter Forrest is an Australian batsman, born in Windsor, New South Wales on 15 November 1985. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium bowler.

Background

Forrest first played for New South Wales in March 2007 as a rookie. He got his full-time contract with them in the next season after some consistent performances in the Pura Cup, Cricket Australia Cup, and Grade Cricket. He played with them until the 2011 season.

He then moved to the Queensland Bulls team and is still associated with them for the Australian domestic tournaments.

The 32-year-old was selected to play for Australia A in 2010 against Sri Lanka A. He kept up his performances and was noticed in the upper-class of Australian cricket.

Debut

Forrest earned his debut for the Australian ODI side against India on 12 February 2012 in the tri-series that also included Sri Lanka. He scored a brilliant inning of 66 in 92 balls, which helped the Aussies post a total of 269 on the board.

Forrest had scored one century and two half-centuries in his first four matches (1st player to do so). He had most runs for any Australian batsman after four ODIs. However, he failed to live up to the expectations later and in his next 11 matches, he could manage only 1 half-century.

Club Career

In the Big Bash League, he has been an integral part of the Brisbane Heat since the 2012 season.
