Traits are special cosmetic add-ons that were introduced in Steal a Brainrot Update 5. They stack with Mutations and provide unique effects, such as taco hats, glittering bodies, and rainbow trails, to your Brainrot. Apart from giving visual effects, they multiply or divide the Cash generated by characters every second, thus making them even more valuable once in your collection.

Witch Hat	Halloween	Pumpkins pop up on the map, which gets a Halloween theme.	Brainrots get a witch hat and a witch hat symbol.	4.5x

A Brainrot can have five more Traits at a time. Moreover, it can possess the special effects applied by each Trait. For instance, a Matteo will have a hat on the top of its head as well as a rainbow trail when it is affected by the Hat and Nyan Traits.

Traits are applied by both developer- and player-triggered events. The latter, colloquially known as rituals, require a group of players holding specific Brainrots to line themselves up in a particular formation. Notably, rituals can be performed at any time in the game.

Sleepy is the only Trait that reduces a Brainrot's income rate. However, its associated event hasn't been activated by the developers since the Admin Abuse War with Grow a Garden.

Apart from developer- and player-initiated events, it is possible for Brainrots to get Traits during random weather events.

• Rain - Gives a 1.5x multiplier
• Snow - Gives a 2x multiplier
• Starfall - Gives a 2.5x multiplier

The income boosts provided by Traits are stackable. If you have a Brainrot God character with both Zombie and Firework Traits, it will have a combined 11x multiplier, which can be further increased by a Mutation.
