The only significant partnership of the innings came between Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler, who scored a half-century. After the partnership broke, Rajasthan Royals kept on losing wickets on a regular basis and could set a target of 153 runs only.In an almost must-win game, Rajasthan Royals were facing the Kings XI Punjab for the first time in this year's IPL. Rajasthan did not have a great start to their batting as they lost Darcy Short and Ajinkya Rahane for single-digit scores.During the chase, Punjab also got a start similar to that of Rajasthan's as they lost Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal for low scores. Then came a very important 50-run partnership between KL Rahul and Karun Nair. Right after Nair got out, Axar Patel followed the suit and Marcus Stoinis joined Rahul in the middle. With Rahul sticking to one end, KXIP always seemed comfortable to chase down the total. Rahul scored his slowest IPL half-century off 44 balls but once he reached the half-century mark he accelerated the scoring and ended with a 54-ball 84. Stoinis provided able support to Rahul as he scored 23 runs in 16 balls and helped Rahul chase down the score with eight balls to spare. Here are some of the Twitter reactions to the match:Always rate finishing games as a very high quality in batsman and KL Rahul did it so brilliantly today. Good performance by the boys and really well led by Ashwin #KXIPvRR— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) May 6, 2018Elegance, maturity, class personified... KL Rahul take a bow #KXIPvRR— Deep Dasgupta (@DeepDasgupta7) May 6, 2018Very impressive run chase by Kings 11 Punjab. KL Rahul was 48 of 43 and just like what top batsmen do,was able to accelerate quickly and scored 36 of his next 11. The running between the wickets, the twos was a standout feature as well #KXIPvRR— Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif) May 6, 2018Now this is how the best finish matches. This, from KL Rahul was an innings of the very highest class.— Harsha Bhogle (@bhogleharsha) May 6, 2018Technical competence along with the maturity to finish the game...almost singlehandedly. Amazing innings from Rahul, again. A bit different this time though. Stoinis needs to come above Axar at least. There were still Manoj and Ashwin to come. Batting looks stronger without Yuvraj. Nice win. Now to repeat this in Jaipur! #KXIPvRR— Kunal Tolani (@Kunal_jt) May 6, 2018What an innings by KL Rahul, a class written all over it. #IPL2018 This is how you finish the game clinically. #KXIPvRR— Aditya Karnik (@Adityaskarnik) May 6, 2018Unpopular opinion but I think KL Rahul and Virat Kohli are on same level. #KXIPvRR— nutmeg (@HashtagKunal) May 6, 2018Feeling really bad for Rahane. One of the nicest guy in Indian cricket, always flies under the radar, got burdened with captaincy. Thus resulting in deteriorating form and eventual backlash from RR fans. He doesn't deserve it.. #KXIPvRR— Key-err-tea (@Keerti_RL) May 6, 2018I don't quite understand this soft signal in cricket. #KXIPvRR— Lakshmi Narayanan (@_blnarayanan) May 6, 2018These are the moments which gives a feeling we have long way to go in terms of technology being used in cricket.
