The NFL has vowed not to interfere with the ongoing law enforcement investigation into New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft, while confirming it will take "appropriate action as warranted".

Police in Jupiter, Florida confirmed on Friday that Kraft is one of 25 men facing charges of soliciting another to commit prostitution, in relation to a probe into the Orchids of Asia Day Spa, a massage parlour targeted in a human trafficking investigation.

The 77-year-old has categorically denied engaging in illegal activity.

The NFL issued a statement clarifying how it will respond to the allegations, which read: "Our Personal Conduct Policy applies equally to everyone in the NFL.

"We will handle this allegation in the same way we would handle any issue under the policy. We are seeking a full understanding of the facts, while ensuring that we do not interfere with an ongoing law enforcement investigation.

"We will take appropriate action as warranted based on the facts."

Any potential NFL punishment for Kraft could depend largely on whether he is found guilty. However, league policy permits the NFL to punish him regardless of the verdict.
