Aaron Marquel Brooks was born on June 15, 2000, in Hagerstown, Maryland, USA. He is a wrestler who competes in freestyle and folkstyle wrestling. Brooks attended North Hagerstown High School, where he excelled in wrestling, winning multiple national and state championships.

Internationally, Brooks has achieved significant success, becoming a U17 World champion before finishing high school. During his time at university, Brooks won multiple awards such as the NCAA Division I National Championships in different weight classes. Brooks has also won medals at the Junior World Championships and the U23 World Championships, including a gold medal in 2023.

In 2024, Brooks earned a spot on the US Olympic Team by defeating top competitors at the Olympic Team Trials, including multiple-time champions like David Taylor. He will represent the United States in freestyle wrestling at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Aaron Marquel Brooks committed to wrestle for the Penn State Nittany Lions in early 2018. His journey at Penn State is marked by exceptional achievements in wrestling. During his first season with Penn State in 2019-2020, Brooks redshirted initially but quickly made an impact by winning the Mat Town Open. His redshirt was then removed to compete in dual meets, where he showcased an impressive 9-1 record. He also participated in the US National Championships where he finished sixth.

During the 2020-2021 season, Brooks became a strong competitor in college wrestling. He didn't lose any matches in the team competitions, winning all six dual meets. He also won his first Big Ten Conference championship. At the NCAA Division I National Championships, Brooks proved himself even more by winning the title in the 184 lb weight class. His victories against the best opponents secured his place at the US Olympic Team Trials.

In the 2021-2022 season, Aaron kept up his impressive performance. He didn't lose any matches again, winning all 14 dual meets he competed in. Brooks also defended his Big Ten Conference title successfully. At the NCAA National Championships, he won his second championship, defeating Myles Amine in the finals. For his consistency throughout the season, Brook was regarded as one of the top wrestlers in college wrestling.

In his senior year, from 2022 to 2023, Brooks continued his impressive performance by winning 9 out of 10 dual meets. He was honored with the third Big Ten Conference title. Not just Big Ten but also his third NCAA National Championship. Brooks was honored as the Big Ten Wrestler of the Year and the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the NCAA Tournament.

In his final year at Penn State, Brooks competed at 197 lbs, he maintained his dominance with an unbeaten 11-0 dual meet record. He earned the Big Ten title consecutively for the fourth time making history as the seventh wrestler to win four NCAA titles. Brook was honored with the Hodge Trophy as the nation's top collegiate wrestler.
