Lindsey Caroline Vonn is an American retired World Cup Alpine Ski racer. Vonn’s career includes four World Cup overall championships, positioning her among the top female skiers alongside Annemarie Moser-Pröll and Mikaela Shiffrin. She secured three consecutive titles from 2008 to 2010 and added another in 2012.

In 2010, Vonn won the gold medal in downhill at the Winter Olympics becoming the first American woman to achieve this feat. In 2016, she claimed her 20th World Cup crystal globe title surpassing Swedish legend Ingemar Stenmark's record of 19. Vonn is one of only six women to have won World Cup races in all five alpine skiing disciplines including downhill, super-G, giant slalom, slalom, and super combined. Her career tally of 82 World Cup victories stood as a women's record until January 2023, when Shiffrin surpassed it. Only Shiffrin and Stenmark with 86 victories have more wins than Vonn.

Along with her Olympic gold and bronze medals, Vonn's accolades include two World Championship golds in 2009 and three silver medals in 2007 and 2011. Her contributions to American skiing earned her the Laureus World Sportswoman of the Year award in 2011 and the United States Olympic Committee's Sportswoman of the Year title.
