
Red Gerard hails from the United States and snowboards. Gerard began snowboarding when he was just two years old. In order to support Gerard's love, his family constructed a snowboarding park with a rope tow in their backyard after relocating to Silverthorne, Colorado, in 2007. At the age of 17, he won the gold medal in the men's slopestyle at the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, which made him famous all over the world.
Along with his Olympic gold, Gerard has 16 individual World Cup podiums and two gold medals from the 2024 and 2025 X Games slopestyle competitions. He faced disappointment in the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. He finished fourth in slopestyle and fifth in big air and hence missed out on the podium. In 2022, he placed second in the Aspen World Cup slopestyle tournament. In 2025, he placed second in the Laax Open and Calgary World Cup slopestyle competitions and third in the Edmonton and Copper Big Air World Cups.
