Born on November 27, 1997, Sorin Koszyk is a prominent name in the world of American rowing. He is representing the United States in the double sculls at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Koszyk's rowing journey began in 2013 during his time at Grosse Pointe South High School. He clinched six Club National Championships with the Detroit Boat Club and three Midwest Championship titles. He attended Cornell University after graduating high school. During his college, he was a two-time Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA) National Champion, a two-time member of the IRA Crew of the Year, and earned First Team All-Ivy honors. He also contributed to Cornell's Ivy League Championship victory before graduating in 2020.

Koszyk's freshman year saw him rowing with the varsity eight where he led to an undefeated season and a national championship at the IRA National Championships. He earned the varsity eight EARC Lightweight Crew of the Year title and secured Cornell's 11th Ivy League Championship at the EARC Sprints. He was named First-Team All-Ivy for his efforts. During his sophomore year, Koszyk rowed in the varsity eight where he guided the team to victories over Penn, MIT, and Dartmouth and secured a sixth-place finish at the Eastern Sprints.

Koszyk's junior year was marked by another IRA National Championship win which made him a two-time National Champion. His crew was named the 2019 IRA Lightweight Crew of the Year and they also secured the Matthews Trophy, Geiger Cup, Platt Cup, and Harriet Trophy. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his senior season. During his Post-graduation, Koszyk trained with the Penn AC Rowing Association in Philadelphia, initially competing in a coxless four. He transitioned to the California Rowing Club in Oakland, California, in 2022 after narrowly missing out on the delayed 2020 Olympic Games qualification in 2021. Koszyk successfully qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympics after teaming up with Ben Davison in a double scull in March 2023.
