What will happen on this week's Friday Night SmackDown?

This week, WWE SmackDown is set to feature the biggest stars of its main roster after the entire fiasco surrounding the delay in their return from Saudi Arabia last Friday.

Two matches that were scheduled for last week are now scheduled to take place tonight. Other than that, there are a few added bouts, a returning Superstar and a possible invasion on cards.

Last week, the NXT roster invaded SmackDown. The episode witnessed Shayna Baszler attack Bayley, Tommaso Ciampa beat The Miz and Adam Cole successfully defend his NXT Championship against Daniel Bryan.

In addition, Matt Riddle and Keith Lee laid down a vicious attack on Sami Zayn. Towards the end, the entire roster came to the ring and celebrated with Triple H.

This week, the following can happen on Friday Night SmackDown.

#6 Roman Reigns takes on ‘King’ Baron Corbin

The King will have trouble with the Big Dog
The King will have trouble with the Big Dog

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has feuded with Baron Corbin in the past. Tonight, another chapter will be added to their rivalry and it might turn into a full-fledged feud. The former Universal Champion is once again gearing up to take on the ‘King’ after the latter’s extended feud with Shorty G.

Reigns and Corbin locked horns at WWE Crown Jewel while representing Team Hogan and Team Flair respectively. They were also involved in a brief war of words during the build-up to the recently concluded PPV.

Both these Superstars were set to lock horns last week but the unfortunate delay in their return from Saudi Arabia postponed their encounter. Ever since his return to WWE, Reigns has been carefully booked to showcase the struggles of reaching the top.

The Creatives have done a brilliant job of gradually pushing the Big Dog to the title picture. But there’s still a long way to go and before Reigns finds himself challenging for the gold, he will have to take on the King.

Corbin is an excellent heel who manages to get under the skin of his opponents as well as the WWE Universe. This feud will help in establishing Reigns as the top babyface and get more and more fans behind him.

#5 The Fiend reveals his WWE Championship, appears on Miz TV

Let. Him. In!
Let. Him. In!

'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt defeated Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at WWE Crown Jewel 2019. It was advertised that he will be appearing on the Miz TV last week but those plans were delayed.

It is expected that Bray Wyatt will address the WWE Universe outside of Firefly Fun House for the first time at the Miz TV. Although it's his alter ego that won the title, it is highly unlikely that The Fiend himself will do the talking.

In addition, tonight we might get the first glimpse of the Universal Championship which will be personalized for the Champion. It will be interesting to see if Bray Wyatt will address his potential challenge in Adam Cole at the upcoming PPV or if he will begin a feud with another Superstar on the Blue brand.

With Brock Lesnar set to go up against Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series, it is possible that the NXT Champion will be the only concern for 'The Fiend'.

#4 Daniel Bryan set to make ground-breaking decision

Will Daniel Bryan find new friends in Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn?
Will Daniel Bryan find new friends in Shinsuke Nakamura and Sami Zayn?

Ever since Daniel Bryan was betrayed by Rowan, he has slowly turned into a babyface and even teamed up with Roman Reigns in the latter’s feuds. But now that the ‘Big Dog’ is headed towards his next bout, Bryan has to decide on his future in the company.

A couple of weeks ago, Bryan received an interesting offer from Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and his spokesperson, Sami Zayn. The heel duo strongly believes that Bryan is no longer a good guy and there’s no need to redeem himself.

Instead, they believe that Bryan should embrace the heelish side of his personality and form an alliance with Nakamura and Zayn.

Bryan seems skeptical about joining hands with Nakamura but the resistance in denying the offer immediately hints at a possible revival of their friendship. Tonight, we might see Bryan address the entire situation and reveal his intention with respect to the offer.

Will Bryan side with Nakamura or will he end up challenging the latter for his Intercontinental Championship?

#3 New Day challenge The Revival for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship

A huge opportunity for The New Day
A huge opportunity for The New Day

At WWE Crown Jewel 2019, 10 Tag Teams participated in the Tag Team Turmoil match which was eventually won by The OC. During the match, the New Day were successful in eliminating the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, The Revival, from the tournament.

However, that was not enough to stop the Champions.

Despite being eliminated, Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson entered the ring and brutally attacked Kofi Kingston and Big E. This allowed the next entrants, the OC to eliminate the former champions with ease.

Following that incident, it was announced that The Revival and the New Day will lock horns on Friday Night. Similar to Roman Reigns vs Baron Corbin, this match was scheduled for last week but was postponed owing to the delay in their return from Saudi Arabia.

It is interesting to note that The Revival became the Champions after defeating Big E and Xavier Woods. The latter will be out of action due to his injury and Kofi Kingston will now represent the New Day alongside Big E.

#2 Sasha Banks set to face Nikki Cross

Will Nikki Cross stand up to The Boss?
Will Nikki Cross stand up to The Boss?

Nikki Cross fought to win an opportunity to challenge Bayley for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. However, she could not beat the current Champion last Friday and is now set to face the latter’s best friend, Sasha Banks.

WWE announced a single’s match between Banks and Cross. It is expected that Bayley will be by the ringside to support her friend against someone who recently challenged for her title. Although unlikely, there’s a slight chance that Banks will receive help from the current Women’s Champion of the Blue brand.

Sasha Banks has had the entire WWE Universe talking ever since she returned to the company after her four-month hiatus. She feuded with Becky Lynch before being drafted to the Blue brand and is now seen accompanying her best friend as the latter is donning a new gimmick.

Last time Banks was on the ringside, she was attacked by NXT Champion Shayna Baszler who then went on to attack the SmackDown Women’s Champion. Could we see another invasion on the Blue brand?

#1 Tyson Fury returns to the Blue brand

Another round?
Another round?

Tyson Fury and Braun Strowman have been involved in a feud that saw the ‘Monster Among Men’ lose at Crown Jewel. He was knocked out by Fury who won the match via Countout. Following that, Strowman went back inside the ring and attacked the Boxing legend.

Now, Fury is set to address the WWE Universe tonight and is expected to address the incident that transpired at the last PPV. He had also said that he would like to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, another topic that he might touch during the segment.

Going by their history, Fury will likely be attacked by Strowman. However, with the Survivor Series being the biggest concern for all the three brands, it is difficult to assume the direction in which their rivalry is headed.

Could we see yet another brawl between Strowman and Fury? Or will they lock horns in a match tonight?

Stay tuned to find out more details.
