Opinion:  Why Sasha Banks leaving WWE wouldn't be a huge blow to the company

The situation surrounding Sasha Banks and her absence from WWE is getting more murkier with each passing day. It was first reported by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Boss was upset with the finish to her match at WrestleMania 35. The Boston-native felt that she and Bayley should have had a long run with the Women's Tag Team Titles to bring credibility to the said championships. Banks also pulled out of an appearance on "The Wendy Williams Show" at the last minute due to personal reasons.

It was then reported that Banks had asked for her release following WrestleMania 35, with Meltzer reporting that the company's management denied her request and instead asked her to think over her decision. Banks would then stop following WWE on Twitter and start following Cody, AEW and Kenny Omega, hinting at a possible move to AEW.

Banks has also posted numerous cryptic tweets during this time with the latest reports suggesting that The Boss might opt to sit out for the rest of her contract, meaning that she might not return to WWE anytime soon.

The former RAW Women's Champion has been quite vocal about her position in the company and has openly spoken out on the lack of creative direction of her character. Banks' outspoken nature has earned her the ire of some of her co-workers with Alexa Bliss being the most prominent one of them. Bliss and Banks reportedly don't see eye to eye with The Boss opening up about her disdain for The Goddess.

As things stand currently, Banks returning to WWE seems highly unlikely at the moment. There have been numerous reports stating that the company has big plans for Sasha at Money in the Bank but those plans could be scrapped if Banks decides not to return to WWE.

While Banks is totally justified in not coming back, given how poorly she has been treated for the past few years, we believe that Banks leaving the company wouldn't be that big of a blow to the company.

Sure, Banks is a very skilled performer and one of the best in the women's division but the company has a very stacked female roster which wouldn't be affected following The Boss exiting the company. Names like Nikki Cross, Ruby Riot, and Sonya Deville, who have immense potential, could easily be slotted in the spot that was initially intended for the Boston-native. In addition to that, the company has the likes of Toni Storm, Piper Niven, Jinny, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Rhea Ripley and Shayna Baszler in NXT who have "future Women's Champion" written all over them.,

We hope that Banks is granted her release from the company before things get worse than they already have gotten. Sasha leaving WWE wouldn't be a huge blow to the company, but them freezing her contract and not letting her perform for other promotions would put the WWE in a very bad light, and will most certainly be a bad PR move. We are of the opinion that this needs to be sorted out amicably between Banks and WWE so that there is no bad blood between them after everything is said and done.
