Wheeler Yuta (birth name: Paul Gruber), the rising star in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is an American professional wrestler. The member of the Blackpool Combat Club is also a star from the sister promotion of AEW, Ring of Honor (ROH). The current ROH Pure Titleholder set a record by winning the title three times. He started performing for New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) in 2021 and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla in 2022 simultaneously with AEW.

Yuta formerly worked for Chikara, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), NOVA Pro Wrestling, and Dojo Pro Wrestling. He has Chikara Young Lions Cup (1 time), Dojo Pro White Belt Title (1 time), Men's Commonwealth Cup (2018), and IWTV Independent Wrestling World Title (1 time) to his name. Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) ranked Wheeler Yuta at the 43rd spot among the top 500 wrestlers in the list of PWI 500 in 2022 and he also made it to the list of ESPN the following year.

Wheeler Yuta is of mixed ethnicity, American and Japanese. His father is an American individual and his mother is from Japan. Yuta has American lineage from his father and Japanese lineage from his mother's side. However, the 25-year-old holds American nationality as he was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.

Yuta introduced his grandparents from his mother's side via an Instagram post on September 26, 2020. His grandfather died when Yuta was a kid and he has beautiful memories with her grandmother. According to Yuta, his grandmother learned English so that she could speak to Yuta and his sister. Yuta also expressed that, he still thinks about the last time he saw his grandmother and is grateful to have such memories. His grandmother gave him a drawing of Mickey Mouse and also said to him that she misses her every time, even if she is far away from him. As per Yuta, he misses his grandmother every day now.

Wheeler Yuta’s Early Life and Parents

The names of Wheeler Yuta's father and mother have yet to be found. However, his father worked as a master chief petty officer in the United States Navy. His father met his mother while working as an official in the navy during a tour. Yuta moved to South Carolina, US during childhood with his father and mother. He was a student at Carolina Forest High School during the time of his graduation. After the settlement of Yuta's family in Philadelphia, US, he completed his studies at Villanova University with a degree.

As per Yuta's Instagram, his father was 68 years old on June 26, 2020 (now 72) and his mother is more or less than 65 years old as of March 2024. Yuta uploads some images of his father and mother on that day to wish his father on birthday. According to those images, Yuta also has a sister, however, no details on her have been found on the internet. It is also not known whether Yuta's sister is older or younger than him.
