Hailing from Santa Rosa, California, United States, Brandon Michael Hyde has been managing the Baltimore Orioles for the past six years (as of 2024). Notably, he began his career as a baseball player in high school and college before joining the Chicago White Sox as an undrafted free agent in 1997. However, he spent most of his playing career in the minor leagues. Transitioning to coaching, Hyde had stints with minor league teams like Greensboro Grasshoppers, Carolina Mudcats, Jupiter Hammerheads and Jacksonville Suns during the initial phase of his coaching career. Moreover, he was the bench coach and the interim manager for the Florida Marlins from 2010-11 and then served as the bench coach and first base coach of the Chicago Cubs from 2014-18. Notably, he was an integral part of the World Series win with the Cubs in 2016. Nonetheless, he started managing the Baltimore Orioles from 2019 onwards after being chosen for the role in December 2018.

Brandon Hyde’s managerial skills led him to become the AL Manager of the Year in 2023 and has also achieved a win-loss record of 339-406 in 745 games as a manager as of May 2024.
