Gabriel Moreno was born on February 14, 2000, in Venezuela, and is a Major League Baseball catcher for the Arizona Diamondbacks. In 2022, he made his MLB debut with the Toronto Blue Jays. Moreno made his professional debut in 2017 with the Rookie-level Blue Jays of the Dominican Summer League. Moreno did not play in a game in 2020 because the minor league season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After the 2020 season, he was added to the Blue Jays' 40-man roster.

Moreno began the 2021 season with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, where he batted .373/ .441/ .651 with eight home runs and 45 RBI in 32 games. Moreno underwent surgery on his right thumb on July 3, 2021, after suffering a fracture. After recovering from his injury, Moreno was promoted to the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons. He made his Major League debut on June 11, 2022, but only after a few months, Moreno was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for Daulton Varsho.
