The 2024 NCAA March Madness will be held from March 19 to April 8 in Glendale, Arizona, at the State Farm Stadium. As it follows the single elimination format, 68 teams were selected on March 17, the Selection Sunday.

A seed, between 1 and 16, is allocated to each of the four zones into which teams are divided. There are seven rounds in the tournament, which takes place over three weeks straight. To start the first week, eight teams participate in the First Four. The four winners, along with 60 other teams, move on to the first and second rounds.

The 16 winners advance to the second weekend to compete in the regional semifinals and finals, also known as the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight, respectively, in order to maintain the number of competitors in the round.

Following that, the third weekend of the tournament sees the four teams—collectively referred to as the Final Four—move on to compete for the national semifinals and national championship.

The event was established more than 80 years ago and since then, 37 different universities have won it, with UCLA holding the record for most titles won (11); furthermore, their coach, John Wooden, has the record for most wins by any coach (10).
