Chance Gray is a guard for the Ohio State Buckeyes Women’s Basketball Team and plays as a junior in the 2024-2025 season. Before playing for the Buckeyes, Gray played her first two years of college at the University of Oregon. During the 2023-24 season, she played all 31 games for the Ducks, topping the team in minutes per game with 36.5, which was third in the Pac-12 Conference. Gray averaged 13.9 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 0.8 steals per game, with a shot accuracy of 34.7% from the field and 33.7% from the three-pointer range. She led the team by scoring at least ten points throughout the season. Gray was also selected for the US National Basketball Team to compete in the 2023 Women's AmeriCup. In that tournament, Team USA won a silver medal, and she averaged 1.2 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists. Gray played all 35 games as a freshman in 2022-23, averaging 10.3 points, 2.2 assists, and 2.1 rebounds. She earned a spot in the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, an honorable Mention in the All-Defensive Team, and the Pac-12 Player of the Week once.

Chance Gray began her basketball career at Lakota West High School, playing there for three seasons before transferring to Winton Woods High School for her senior year. Gray was a five-star recruit and was the second-best point guard in the country, as per ESPN. She was also ranked as the No. 7 overall player in the Class of 2022. Gray was part of the 2022 McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic. During her senior year, she was a finalist for the Naismith Girls High School Player of the Year award. She was also named the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year and the Ohio District 16 Player of the Year. Gray averaged 26.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.2 steals per game and helped Winton Woods advance to a regional semifinal. As a sophomore, she was named to the All-Ohio first team after averaging 20.6 points. Gray had a remarkable high school career before committing to the University of Oregon.
