Maddie Scherr is a collegiate basketball guard for the TCU Horned Frogs in the Big 12 Conference. Scherr attended Ryle High School, where she began her basketball journey. During her junior year, she averaged 16.1 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.7 steals and led her high school to its first-ever state championship in 2019. She received consensus First-team All-State honors and was named Kentucky's Gatorade Player of the year. After being hailed as a five-star talent, Kentucky's Miss Basketball and Kentucky's Player of the Year again, she was invited to the McDonald's All-American game her senior year in 2020. After a stellar high school career, Scherr enrolled at the University of Oregon in 2020.

During her two-year career with the Oregon Ducks, she averaged 3.7 points, 2.6 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals. She was a two-time NCAA participant in 2021 and 2022 respectively and led the team with 102 assists her sophomore season. Scherr transferred to the University of Kentucky in 2022. During her two-year career with the Kentucky Wildcats, she averaged 12 points, five rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.9 steals and earned SEC Academic honors in 203 and 2024 respectively. As of December 2024, she transferred toTexas Christian University and is yet to play a game due to a back injury.
