Zeke Mayo is a guard for the Kansas Jayhawks, a team that competes in the Big 12 Conference of NCAA Division I. Mayo is in his senior year, as of the 2024-2025 season, and previously attended South Dakota State according to his roster on the Jayhawks' official website. As a freshman at Dakota State, Mayo attended all 35 games and started 21 of them, while Averaging 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the season.

During his sophomore season, Mayo led SDSU in several categories including 18.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He registered a career-high 41 points against North Dakota State as he helped his side win with a score of 90-85. He was enlisted in All-Summit League First Team, and NABC All-District 12 First Team that year. In the following season as a junior, he was honored with the 2024 Summit League Player of the Year and 2024 First Team All-Summit League performer. Mayo averaged 18.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He was also a Lou Henson Award finalist for best mid-major player in Division I men’s basketball. Mayo concluded his career with at SDSU 1,576 points which made him the seventh player in scoring.

He bagged the Lawrence Journal-World’s Player of the Year the Sunflower League Player of the Year and was co-recipient of the 2021 DiRenna Award. He was also honored with a first-team all-conference, National Honor Society member and earned the 2019-20 Lawrence Journal-World Boys Player of the Year selection. During his senior year, Mayo averaged 21.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.
