
As of August 2025, American football coach and former player Blake Anderson is presently in his second term at the University of Southern Mississippi as offensive coordinator. Before returning as offensive coordinator on new head coach Charles Huff's staff at Southern Miss, Anderson was the head coach of Utah State and Arkansas State, where he had a combined 74-54 record.
From 1987 to 1989, Anderson played quarterback and wide receiver at Baylor University until tearing his ACL in practice. Following his recuperation, he decided to transfer to Sam Houston State University, where he played for the Bearkats from 1989 to 1991 as a wide receiver. In his final year at Sam Houston State, he was selected to the Southland Conference All-Academic team. After graduating from Sam Houston State with a degree in kinesiology in 1992, he went on to Eastern New Mexico University to earn a master's degree in sports administration in 1994.
