Darius Taylor is a college football running back for the Minnesota Golden Gophers, representing the University of Minnesota in the Big Ten Conference. He enrolled early at Minnesota in January 2023. Making his collegiate debut against Nebraska on August 31, 2023, Taylor had one rushing attempt for three yards in his first game. Throughout the 2023 season, which was his freshman season, he was the second on the team in total offense with 799 rushing yards for an average of 133.2 yards per game and third on the team in scoring with 30 points.

In the 2024 college football season, Darius Taylor had an impressive performance for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. As per Sports Reference, he played in 11 games and rushed for 873 yards on 185 carries, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He also scored 9 touchdowns on the ground. In addition to his rushing stats, Taylor contributed in the passing game with 50 receptions for 333 yards and 2 touchdowns, as of December 2024.
