McCulley started his football career at Lawrence North High School where he led the school to a 7- 4 record in 2020 and to their first title since 2005. He was also ranked the No.2 prospect in the state of Indiana and a four-star prospect by all major sports outlets. McCulley concluded his prep career with 6,211 passing yards, 1,274 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns.
