Ernest Hausmann is an American college footballer playing as the linebacker for the Michigan Wolverines. He was born in Uganda and moved to United States at the age of five. Hausmann began his high school football journey with Columbus High School where he was a two-way standout player. He was a three-star recruit in the class of 2022 and was ranked the second-best player in the state of Nebraska.

He began his collegiate football journey with Nebraska Cornhuskers and made 12 appearances registering 54 tackles with two tackles for loss, one sack and one fumble recovery. After just one season with Nebraska, the linebacker transferred to Michigan with three years of eligibility remaining. In his sophomore year with the Wolverines in 2023, Hausmann finished third on the team with 46 tackles appearing in all 15 games and winning the national championship.

The 6-foot-2, 237-pounder who will be entering his third year is expected to shoulder a veteran role as the Wolverines prepare to defend its national championship title in 2024.
