Sonny Styles is an American college football player who will be playing his third year of college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Styles began his football career at Pickerington Central High School where he was the No.27 overall in the 2022 recruiting class. He reclassified in 2022 and graduated a year early after his junior season. Styles was ranked the No.5 safety in the nation by all major outlets and the No.3 overall prospect in the state of Ohio. He was also an outstanding basketball player during his time at Pickerington and received several offers from Division I schools. He concluded his prep career with 88 tackles, two pass deflections, six interceptions, and a forced fumble before committing to Ohio State Buckeyes for his collegiate football journey. He held offers from other schools such as Alabama, Cincinnati, Clemson, Florida State, Indiana, LSU, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ole Miss, Penn State, and Texas.
In his freshman season, Styles broke into the starting lineup and saw action in 12 games recording nine tackles in the year and one tackle for loss. The following year as a sophomore, Styles saw more playing time as he appeared in 13 games while making fifth on the team in tackles with 53.
