Dhawan made his first-class debut in 2004 but his international debut came 9 years later in 2013

The blistering Indian opener played for the Mumbai Indians in the second and third edition of the IPL. Known for playing shots with ease, Dhawan bought by the Mumbai Indians in 2009 auction on the back of his prolific domestic performance.

He played 15 innings for Mumbai Indians and have scored 231 runs at a moderate average of 26.21 with a Strike rate of 100.61. In an important match, He made 56 off 34 balls against their arch-rivals CSK with five fours and three sixes. That was his only notable innings off him for the men in blue

In 2011 he was bought by the defunct Deccan Chargers for the hefty sum of $300,000. From then on the Left-handed batsman never looked back as he made his debut for India in 2013 has played 30 tests, 105 ODIs and 40 T20Is for his nation. Also, his second IPL side went onto claim the trophy in 2015.
