The fast bowler from Gujarat was signed by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2013. Bumrah came into the limelight soon after he clinched 3 wickets on his IPL debut. Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli became his first wicket in the IPL.

Bumrah who grabbed eyeballs for his unusual action honed under the guidance of Lasith Malinga who is also famous for his slinging action. Bumrah who looked promising was bought back by the Mumbai franchise in the following IPL auction for a whopping Rs. 1.2 crore.

Bumrah could not do much in the following two IPL seasons but showed his brilliance in bits and pieces. He was called to the national team as an injury replacement on Australia tour in 2016. Bumrah troubled the Australian batsmen and returned with 6 wickets in the 3 T20 Internationals.

Since then Bumrah has cemented his place in Indias's limited overs' squad and has been one of the prominent death bowlers along with Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
