Virat Kohli is inarguably the greatest all-format batsman in world cricket at the moment. He has a plethora of records to his name and continues to create new ones almost every time he takes the field.

In the IPL too Kohli has proven to be a force to be reckoned with, toying with bowlers from other franchises while notching runs at an alarming rate and with ridiculous consistency.

However, there are a few records that the RCB captain may never come close to breaking. Here is a look at five records Kohli will never break in his IPL career:

#5 Highest individual score - 175

The record for the highest individual score in the IPL belongs to Kohli's former teammate at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chris Gayle.

In IPL 2013, Pune Warriors India faced the wrath of the big West Indian as he took each and every one of their bowlers to the cleaners en route to a scintillating 175.

Kohli's highest score meanwhile is the 113 that he scored against Kings XI Punjab. Considering the fact that Gayle opened for RCB when he created the record while Kohli has shown a preference for batting at 3 (at least in this season), he will have fewer deliveries in which to score those runs, making it extremely unlikely for him to achieve such a feat.

#4 Fastest fifty - 14 balls

KL Rahul struck the fastest fifty in IPL history earlier this season against the Delhi Daredevils. Rahul blazed his way to 50 off just 14 deliveries, with the help of 4 sixes and 6 fours.

On the other hand, Kohli's fastest fifty came off almost double the number of deliveries (26). Kohli is a player who likes to build his innings slowly and then accelerate as the match progresses, which is not something that would help him break the record in question.

#3 Highest strike rate in an innings - 422.22 (Min. 25 runs)

A rather surprising name holds this record. Chris Morris, while playing for the Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017, struck 38 runs off just 9 balls, equating to a strike rate of 422.22. Morris blasted 4 fours and 3 sixes in his sensational knock.

Taking into account the fact that Kohli bats high up the order and generally faces a fair number of deliveries, he would need to score more than a boundary a ball which is next to impossible for a player of even his caliber.

#2 Fastest century - 30 balls

There is simply no way Virat Kohli can ever come close to breaking this record set by Chris Gayle. The West Indian struck a belligerent century off just 30 balls in a game against Pune Warriors India back in 2013, a record that stands till date.

The second fastest century belongs to Yusuf Pathan, who achieved the feat off 37 balls. Kohli's fastest century came off 47 balls and he sits 13th on the list of players to have scored the quickest century in the IPL.

#1 Most sixes in an innings - 17

Another record Virat Kohli has no chance of breaking. This particular feat too belongs to Chris Gayle who struck a whopping 17 sixes in his mammoth knock of 175 (66) against Pune Warriors India at the Chinnaswamy Stadium way back in IPL 2013.

Just let that sink in - 17 sixes. That is a total of 102 runs through maximums alone. The most number of sixes Kohli has struck in an innings is just 8 and the manner in which he paces his innings means he is just never going to be able to equal Gayle's feat.
