The Indian Premier League is perhaps the biggest and most-viewed T20 league in the world. It started in 2008 and over the course of 10 years, many mind-boggling records have been created and broken. Few of the significant records include Chris Gayle's 175, Virat Kohli's four IPL centuries in 2016 etc.

While the important ones have grabbed the limelight and became headlines, let's take a look at 5 of them which you might have missed out on.

#1 Manish Pandey and Paul Valthaty are the only two uncapped centurions in IPL

The IPL with its motto, 'Where talent meets opportunity' is known to bring out sensational young talents. However, Manish Pandey and Paul Valthaty were the only two Indian uncapped players to score hundreds.

Pandey smashed 114 not out off 73 balls against Deccan Chargers at the Centurion in the second edition of IPL, whereas Valthaty's unbeaten 120 off 63 balls came against CSK at Mohali in 2011.

Seven years later Pandey is regular in India's ODI and T20 setup whereas Valthaty has faded away.

#2 History repeats as Raina hits second-ball six again

Fondly called 'Mr.IPL' for his staggering record in the league, Suresh Raina started his IPL stints for both his teams Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Lions in the same way. In his first match for CSK, Raina sent the second ball he faced into the stands and began his IPL career with a bang.

Eight years later in 2016, playing for his new team Gujarat Lions, Raina repeated the same feat again! On both occasions, the venue was I.S.Bindra Stadium Mohali.

#3 Brendon McCullum - The lone KKR centurion

Kolkata Knight Riders have not been great century-makers in IPL. In fact, Brendon McCullum's 158 off 73 balls in the inaugural IPL game is the only hundred by a KKR batsman in 10 years of IPL. One possible reason could be the slow and low nature of wicket at Eden Gardens. However, the re-laying of Eden Gardens pitch has made it batting conducive and pace-friendly and hence we should see this record being broken more frequently in the coming years.

#4 ACA VDCA Stadium, Vishakhapatnam - Home to 4 IPL teams

The YSR Reddy ACA VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam is the only IPL venue to have been a home ground to four IPL teams viz. Deccan Chargers (2012), Sunrisers Hyderabad (2015), Mumbai Indians (2016) and Rising Pune Supergiant (2016). In 2016, when matches were shifted from Maharashtra because of drought, Vizag was chosen as the home ground of Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant for the last leg of IPL.

The D.Y. Patil Stadium (MI, DC, PWI), Barbati Stadium (DC, KKR, KXIP) and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (PWI, DD, KXIP) have been home ground to 3 teams.
