The most consistent and best franchises in the history of Indian Premier League are Mumbai Indians(MI) and Chennai Super Kings(CSK).

Rivalries are something that makes this sport exciting, and the matches against the rivals are even more.

The rivalry between Mumbai and Chennai is familiarly known as the Super Indian derby.

There is a reason too for this. These teams are considered as rivals as both sides look equally competitive on the paper and display the brand of cricket that a fan of this game waits craves for.

#3 IPL 2015 Finals (Mumbai Indians won by 41 runs)

The king of comebacks, Mumbai Indians completed one of the most astonishing comebacks in the history of the tournament with an IPL trophy in 2015.

The legendary captain of Indian national team and CSK, MS Dhoni decided to bowl first on the pitch of Eden Gardens.

Ashish Nehra proved his captain's decision right by giving just a single run in the first over. In the same over, Faf du Plessis ran out Parthiv Patel through his splendid fielding.

However, Rohit Sharma and Lendl Simmons had other plans. The duo tore apart the CSK bowlers, stitched a partnership of 119 runs in just 66 balls.

Mumbai amassed 202 runs in their allocated 20 overs.

Chasing a daunting target of 203, Chennai Super Kings were never in the game. Hussey was dismissed in the fourth over, and the asking rate started to increase. Dwayne Smith tried to hold the other end, but Harbhajan Singh sent him back in the 15th over.

After the dismissal of Smith, everything happened right for Mumbai and they ended up clinching their second title after they had a terrible start to the season.

This match witnessed the typical Super Kings performance.

Chennai did it as the same as what they do in big games. Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first on a dry Kotla pitch.

Murali Vijay and Hussey shared a half-century stand before Vijay was dismissed by Pollard. That was the only one single moment of rejoicing for Mumbai Indians when they were bowling.

Hussey and Raina shared an unbeaten 140-run partnership for the second wicket, scoring 123 of the last ten overs.

Mumbai started their chase on a bright note after Tare was sent back into the hut.

Smith went berserk and scored 68 of just 28 deliveries. Being known for smart decisions on the field, Dhoni brought back his trump card bowler, Ravindra Jadeja, who dismissed Smith and Karthik which reduced MI to 95 for three wickets after 10.3 overs.

Then soon after, under pressure, Rohit Sharma too got out in the next over itself.

Although Pollard tried to hold the other end, with his big sixes, the all-rounder was dismissed by Jadeja.

Then Dwayne Bravo completed his duties, cleaning up the tail of Mumbai Indians and handed Chennai one more chance to win the IPL trophy.

Losing the toss and invited to bat first, Chennai Super Kings amassed 173 runs for the loss of eight wickets.

For Chennai, Vijay was the top scorer, scoring 41 runs from 29 balls. Raina and Bravo added crucial 62 runs from 45 balls for the third-wicket.

In the later stages of the Chennai based franchise's innings, Dhoni and Bravo shared a frenetic stand of 44 runs in less than four overs.

Chasing 174, Mumbai lost their first wicket early in the form of James Franklin. The loss of the first wicket was good for Mumbai which brought Sharma soon to the crease.

Sharma and Sachin Tendulkar added 126 runs for the second wicket.

However, the twist in the tale was still left as Tendulkar tried to chip the ball of Ashwin and Du Plessis held on to the catch and the game changed its course.

After the dismissal of Master Blaster, Mumbai required 40 from 25 balls with eight wickets remaining.

Bravo removed Karthik and in the next over Jadeja picked two crucial wickets and gave just two runs.

Mumbai Indians needed 16 off the final over with three wickets in hand. Ben Hilfenhaus conceded only two runs off three balls, with Mumbai requiring 14 from the next three.

Smith smashed three consecutive boundaries( Six, four, four) to win the enthralling match for Mumbai.
