Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway provided a fine start for the Chennai Super Kings, adding 87 runs for the first wicket.

Gaikwad lost his wicket for 60, while Mohammed Shami dismissed Conway 10 runs short of his half-ton. Shami emerged as the pick of the bowlers for GT with figures of 2/28.
