Coming from a humble background, Hardik Pandya had a tough and devious journey to reach the highest echelons in the all-rounders’ list in Indian cricket. Time and again, Hardik is often compared to legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev and the expectations will be augmented along the line.

Hardik made his international debut on January 26, 2016, during the T20I series against Australia in their backyard. Based on his consistency in all departments, the all-rounder was roped into the MS Dhoni-led India squad for the 2016 T20 World Cup at home. After making his international debut, Hardik has been part of every major ICC event for India be it the Champions Trophy in 2017, World Cup in 2019 or 2021 T20 World Cup.

As of October 2022, Hardik has played 11 Tests, 77 ODIs and 92 T20Is in the Indian colours. The star all-rounder has scored more than 4500 runs and picked 163 wickets across all formats.

With 1666 runs in 58 innings at 33.3, Hardik is one of the finest hitters in the longer format in current times. Hardik Pandya's Test century

Hardik has had a limited run in the red-ball format due to his recurring injuries. He has played 11 Tests for India in the span of 13 months - from July 2017 to August 2018. Hardik has scored 937 runs at an average of 31.06 with four 50-plus scores and a single century.

During his debut Test series, Pandya, shortly after rising to fame on the back of his heroics in the 2017 Champions Trophy final, was up for the challenge of turning slow tracks in the island nation.

Hardik scored 50 in his debut innings followed by 20 in the second game. Pandya’s 108 against Sri Lanka in the final Test in Pallekele remains the best moment of his Test career to date. His 93 against a formidable Proteas pace attack in Cape Town could be a challenger to his solitary Test ton in terms of greatest Test knocks by Pandya.
