Over the past month or so, people around the world have managed to wear wide smiles on their faces, courtesy of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The entertainment that India’s big soap opera is providing is nothing short of entertainment.

And, the joy is borne not just out of the fact that the cricket-crazy fans have been hungrier than ever before, but because the biggest cricket league in the world is underway ensuring the safety of everyone involved, despite a dangerous virus ravaging through the entire world.

All this has been possible because of the various safety guidelines laid down by the stakeholders of the Indian Premier League, especially the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

Just how , IPL 2020 ensured the safety of every person involved, made them undergo RT-PCR tests before forming separate bio-secure bubbles for every franchise.

The work behind the scenes to ensure safety

All players and support staff underwent COVID-19 testing both before boarding the flight from India and after landing in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). And, that was not all. Members of all IPL franchises and their families then had to self-isolate for six days in separate rooms in the hotels they were staying at and had to return COVID-19 negative thrice before being allowed to join the bio-bubbles.

The best feature, though, of all the safety protocols is the Bluetooth-operated smart bands that everyone has to wear at all times. While players and the management can take the bands off while on the ground, their families can only take it off only in their hotel rooms.

The bands not only notify if the person wearing it comes within six feet of another person but also measure body temperatures and sends the data to the BCCI on a daily basis.

While people normally enjoy the final product, it is imperative that they understand the almost double the work and planning that goes on behind the scenes to make the final product possible.

HDFC Life’s top service and insurance plans have made celebrating their 20th year of existence that much more enjoyable, considering that thousands of families have reaped the benefits of the insurance plans that have catered to all age groups.

One of the most imperative of the plans, the plan is one that guards families against life’s uncertainties, and with the coronavirus pandemic sweeping through the world, look no further than investing in the scheme to keep yourself and your family safe.
